Tottenham Hotspur have been given some seal of approval from an unlikely source if they decide to sign Alexis McAllister, with Jack Wilshere naming the Argentine in his World Cup squad.
McAllister is, of course, preparing for tonight’s final, which sees Lionel Scallone’s men take on current holders France.
Much of the talk around Argentina has, understandably, focused on Lionel Messi. However, several of his team-mates did well to make it to another final for Argentina.

And Mac Allister was one of those who really impressed. In fact, his form has not gone unnoticed by some of Brighton’s Premier League rivals.
According to the latest information from L’Interista, Tottenham are admirers of the 23-year-old player. Meanwhile, Inter Milan, Juventus and Atletico Madrid are also interested in McAllister.
Ahead of the final, Wilshere revealed his team of the tournament to The Sun. Along with Jude Bellingham, the former Arsenal midfielder has chosen to target Spurs.
And he probably won’t be the only one, including McAllister. He has been exceptional so far, with Brighton team-mate Joel Weltman telling Brighton’s official website that he had been “amazing” in Qatar.
He has the ability to play all over the middle of the park. And that’s becoming clear as the rest of the Argentina team try to do everything they can to get the best out of their talisman.
Spurs have obviously been aware of Mac Allister for some time. He has been in excellent form for the Seagulls this season, scoring 5 goals in 14 Premier League appearances.
Therefore, it will not be easy for Tottenham to secure his signature if they move.
Judging by his team of the tournament, Wilshere will certainly be hoping they don’t get lucky.
