Tech Mahindra brings the experience of composites to fly and drive the eVTOL | Jobs Vox

Tech Mahindra (Pune, India), a provider of digital transformation, consulting and business reengineering services, is to collaborate with ASKA (Los Altos, CA, USA), a ride-hailing company that offers passengers a next-generation vehicle combining the comfort of a car, with safety, the ease and efficiency of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) and short take-off and landing (STOL).

This collaboration will leverage Tech Mahindra’s engineering expertise that comes with decades of experience working with high-end aerospace and automotive customers. Tech Mahindra will support ASKA in the areas of design, analysis, development of composites and advanced materials, crash dynamics (automotive and aerospace), battery and structural testing.

“We are confident that our engagement with Tech Mahindra will advance ASKA’s development, testing and certification process to meet ASKA’s 2026 commercialization goal,” notes Guy Kaplinski, co-founder and CEO of ASKA. “Tech Mahindra’s aim to deliver tomorrow’s experiences today strongly supports our mission to solve the world’s traffic congestion problem and improve people’s quality of life.”

The ASKA is a four-seat electric flying vehicle that can drive like a car, as well as take off vertically to fly like an airplane, with a maximum range of 250 miles on a single charge. It is also equipped with a range-extending motor that charges the batteries during flight.

“The development of drive-and-fly vehicles is an emerging area of ​​global innovation that can play a major role in creating the best travel experience with minimal infrastructure investment and low environmental impact,” suggests Lakshmanan Chidambaram, President – Enterprise America, Tech Mahindra. “We look forward to creating synergies with ASKA working on the engineering design and analysis of the eVTOL to fly and drive.”
