Department of Electrical Engineering won the kabaddi tournament of Government Polytechnic Jammu

Jammu, 23 December: Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk Jammu on Friday organized an Inter-Departmental Kabaddi Tournament as part of the annual sports calendar in which eight teams from all engineering and humanities departments participated.
The opening of the tournament was announced by Principal Er. Chief guest Arun Bangotra, all department heads and sports in-charge were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the principal stressed upon the players to play the game in the right spirit as true sportsmen. Kabaddi, he said, is a competitive contact sport played all over India but is one of the favorite sports played in the rural areas of North India.
Mr. Tariq Amin, Sports Secretary, Government Polytechnic Jammu thanked the chief guest and all the organizing committees for making the tournament a success. He specially thanked the technical panel deputed by DYSSU Jammu and District Youth Service and Sports Office Jammu which includes Mrs. Bandana Sharma Lecturer Physical Education, Jasdev Singh PEM, Vishal Singh PET, Sanjeet Kumar, Sunny Kumar and Sabita.
In the first semi-final, the Electrical Engineering department defeated the Automobile department by 32-20 marks. In the second semi-final, the Mechanical Engineering Department defeated the Civil Department by 19-10 marks and in the final, the Electrical Engineering Department defeated the Mechanical Department by 37-23 marks.
