The event was hosted by Raja Mukherjee & Himanshi Chatvani. The stalwarts of the media and entertainment industry joined the event to be part of a grand celebration of incredible talent from around the world. With over 5000 entries in 35 categories; this mega event witnessed an audience of over 1200 people from across the country at Sahara Star, Mumbai.
24 FPS is one of the most anticipated events where thousands of students participate in various categories to bring their imagination to life and deliver work that is up to industry standards. 24 FPS also has global zealots who showcase their creative flair in external 24 FPS categories. Over 100 industry leaders and professionals attended this glittering awards night to witness the most prestigious event of the Indian media and entertainment industry. Awards were given in categories such as Best VFX Short Film, Best 3D Animated Short Film, Digital Filmmaking, Design Aesthetics, etc.
The esteemed jury consisted of senior personnel from top production houses and institutions such as Technicolor, Tata Elksi, Assemblage, IDC (IIT Mumbai), iFX (a division of Yash Raj Films), 88 Pictures, Makuta VFX, ReDefine, DNEG, Amazon, Folks , Tech Mahindra, Electronics Arts, among many others. In the special category “Movers and Shakers”, the audience was delighted by the presence of Ellie AvrRam who was awarded as “Most Popular All-round Artist in Media and Entertainment”; Ashnoor Kaur as “Gen Z’s most popular actress and significant contributor to television content” and Yashraj Mukhate as “digital sensation and creative content creator”. Seasoned professionals and dignitaries from the media and entertainment industry graced the occasion. Leading studio ReDefine was awarded for “outstanding VFX work” in the movie Brahmastra. Gamitronics was also awarded for its Metaverse PartiNite as ‘Metaverse Trendsetter of the Year’.

According to FICCI EI M&E, 2022, India’s M&E sector will grow at a CAGR of 13% and add INR 707 billion in three years. Key contributors to this growth are animation and VFX (14%) and online games (7%). The Animation, Visual Effects, Games and Comics (AVGC) sector in India has the potential to become a “Make in India” and “Brand India” carrier. India has the potential to capture 5% (~$40 billion) of global market share by 2025, growing at around 25-30% annually and creating over 1,60,000 new jobs annually.
The online gaming segment is expected to reach INR 153 billion by 2024 at a CAGR of 15% to become the fourth largest segment of the Indian M&E sector, driven by innovations in non-fungible tokens (NFTs), metaverse and esports. The segment will grow across all its verticals, namely esports, fantasy sports, casual games and other games of skill. Metaverse will enable fast internet connections (5G and 6G), powerful virtual reality (VR) headsets and a large audience of gamers.
