An assistance of Rs 5 lakh has been announced for each affected family

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday termed the death of two civilians in Rajouri as an unfortunate incident and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to each family.

According to J&K LG’s office and news agency-Kashmir News Observer (KNO) tweeted that the incident in Rajouri was very unfortunate.

The LG also expressed condolences to the bereaved families.

“What happened in Rajouri is very unfortunate. Condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. The cost of life cannot be quantified but I am announcing an advance assistance of Rs five lakh to each affected family,” LG J&K tweeted.

Two civilians were killed after firing took place outside an army barracks in Rajouri district on Friday morning.

After the incident, a large protest took place in the area and local people demanded action against the perpetrators.
