Jammu: Lieutenant Governor J&K, Manoj Sinha on Sunday extended Christmas greetings to the Christian community.
The festival represents the spirit of forgiveness and peace, and Christmas is an occasion to celebrate and imbibe Jesus Christ’s message of brotherhood, compassion and forgiveness, LG said.

Meanwhile, former Chief Minister of J&K and President of the newly formed Democratic Azad Party, Ghulam Nabi Azad also blessed the Christians on the eve of Christmas.
Ghulam Nabi Azad took to his Twitter account, “Wishing all our citizens a Merry Christmas on the occasion of the birth of Jesus Christ. Let us celebrate this auspicious occasion by devoting ourselves to Christ’s eternal messages of love, compassion and forgiveness for all. May this joyous festival bring peace to all, may it bring prosperity and happiness.”
Christmas is celebrated every year on December 25 to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ.
