Three Huskies earn Cross Country Academic All-MAC honors | Jobs Vox

cleveland – Three members of the Northern Illinois University women’s cross country team were named to the Academic All-MAC team, which was released by the league office on Wednesday (Dec. 21). Julia Finnegan (Palatine, Ill./Fremd), Joey Jackson (North Aurora, Ill./Benet Academy) and Emma Vorpagel (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) were each recognized for their accomplishments in the classroom.

This is the second cross-country Academic All-MAC honor for Finegan, a software development major with a 4.0 GPA. Finnegan competed in four events during the 2022 season, including a top-20 finish at the First State Bank Huskie Challenge.

Jackson, a sociology major with a 4.0 GPA, earns his first Academic All-MAC honor. Jackson competed in all five events at NIU last fall and finished in the top 10 at the Tom Hoffman Invitational.

Vorpagel, a finance major with a 3.861 GPA, also collects his first Academic All-MAC honor. Vorpagel competed in four meets in 2022, with top-25 finishes at the First State Bank Huskie Challenge and the Tom Hoffman Invitational.

To qualify for Academic All-MAC honors, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and compete in at least 50 percent of the contests during the season.
