NEW DELHI: Power stocks closed lower in the session on Thursday.

Orient Green Power Company (up 13.04%), Jioti Structures (up 3.63%), Hitachi Energi India (up 2.80%), DPSC (up 2.16%), Indo Tech Transformers (up 2.14 %), Suzlon Energi-Partli Pd upper right Is (increase by 1.82%), KPI Green Energi (increase by 1.57%),

Transmission (up 1.46%), CESC (up 1.12%) and Alstom T&D India (up 0.93%) were among the top gainers.

PTC India (down 4.39%), Karma Energi (down 4.20%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures (down 3.61%), Reliance Power (down 3.34%), SJVN (down 2.85%), Transformers and Rectifiers (India) (down 2.44%) ), RTNPOVER (down 2.33%), Inok Wind Energy (down 1.98%), NHPC (down 1.55%) and

Limited (down 1.53%) were among the biggest losers of the day.

The NSE Nifti50 ended down 245.4 points at 18414.9, while the 30-share BSE Sensex fell 878.88 points at 61799.03.

Britannia Industries (up 1.26%), Hero MotoCorp (up 0.86%), SBI Life (up 0.3%), NTPC (up 0.29%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 0 .19%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation (up 0.11%) and Mahindra. & Mahindra (up 0.04%) was among the top gainers in the Nifti pack.

On the other hand, Tech Mahindra (down 3.98%), Titan Company Ltd (down 2.64%), Infosys (down 2.46%), HDFC (down 2.09%), Eicher Motors ( down 1.96%), JSV Steel (down 1.93%) ), Grasim Industries (down 1.92%), ITC (down 1.9%), Tata Steel (down 1.86%) ) and Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone (down 1.84%) closed in the red.
