LG Electronics won the Corporate Startup Star Award in the East Asia region for its collaboration with startups.
The award is given by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) to reward corporations that actively collaborate with start-ups.
The electronics maker said on Friday that the success was due to joint ventures such as LG Future Home. LG Future Home is dedicated to finding startups to collaborate on different features to be installed in LG home appliances.
LG Nova is another initiative funded by the company’s North American Innovation Center that aims to support 20 startups to run various pilot projects with LG.
More than 100 companies from all over the world have been selected as the winners of the 2022 Corporate Startup Stars Award.
This award was given in 2016 in cooperation with ITU under the Startup Europe Partnership initiative of the European Commission.
