KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan representative Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has said that there is no point in holding local body elections without fixing the constituencies, but the party will participate in the polls.

“In any case, we will participate in the elections. If our objections to census and boundaries are not removed, we shall be free to make any decision. This is not good for the Pakistan People’s Party because after the polls, a group of local governments will be formed, which will cause problems for the PPP.’

Speaking to reporters at an informal meeting on Thursday, he said the government’s data on the economic situation was encouraging. I hope Pakistan will come out of economic crisis soon. He said that the government has accepted our demands regarding the unfair census. The census will begin soon. The convener of MQM is very hopeful that the population of Karachi will be counted correctly this time.

He said that with our efforts, two universities will soon be established in Karachi, in which APWA College for Women or Khatun-e-Pakistan State College for Women will be selected. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that K-4 water project will be completed soon.
