JNTUA conducts orientation for Telugu translators of engineering books | Jobs Vox

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU)- Anantapur on Wednesday organized an orientation program for translators of second year engineering technical books under the project of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Dinesh Singh, director of AICTE Atal Faculty Development Program, who attended the program as a chief guest, said that translation is being done in 12 Indian languages. They will be useful for students who have had their primary and high school education in Indian languages.

The objective of the program is to train Telugu translators in the use of Udaan software developed by IIT Bombay, said Mr. Dinesh Singh.

Vice Chancellor of the University G. Ranga Janardhan thanked AICTE for identifying JNTUA as the nodal center for translation of books in Telugu language. The first year undergraduate and diploma books had already been translated. Presently 88 books related to second year of UG and Diploma courses are yet to be read.
