At first, Mack Jones’ visible frustration on the field was endearing. But over the past two weeks, the New England Patriots quarterback may have been overcome by his emotions.

“What that tells me is that he doesn’t really hear from people behind the scenes to tell him to get rid of it,” Perry said. “And so what does that mean? Does that mean Bill Belichick hasn’t talked to him about it yet? Which makes me a little bit surprised. Does that mean his teammates are OK? Because we’ve heard from others. Lately, the players that a little bit It’s starting to get old. I just wonder if everyone in the building is okay. Because if they weren’t, wouldn’t they have told him something by now?”
Cassel, like his fellow ex-Patriots, believes it’s time for Jones to tone it down.
“You can’t make it a routine. You can’t make it a habit when week in and week out you’re the center of attention for everything that’s going wrong,” Cassell said. “You show that emotion and you become that guy that doesn’t have the calmness and composure to be a team leader. However, I know he’s a competitor and we saw that throughout last year even. Look, he’s a fiery guy and I understand that. But Sometimes, you kind of have to find a way to break it down a little bit and just say, look, we’ve got to go out and do our job. When you do that and you also don’t play well, then a lot of people come out of the woodwork and start thinking about you.
“But at the end of the day, it’s interesting because a lot of people don’t comment on it and it’s probably something they don’t want to be distracted by. Coach Belichick, Patricia, these guys are not going to come. Go out and just call him because, again, how does that benefit your team, your offense, which already has a lot of questions to answer on a weekly basis just from a productivity standpoint? So for Mack Jones, I think it’s just about going back to work and maybe changing that approach a little bit and making sure you’re right about what needs to be right because there’s too many missed shots in this game for him to go out and just blame somebody else people.”
