They said the government had formulated a transfer policy for them and promised to relocate them to safe places outside Kashmir. Labor leader Naresh Bhagat said, “The committee of senior officials to formulate the transfer policy has not yet submitted its report to us. As these officials are not working, their salaries should be suspended.”

Senior BJP leader Devendra Singh Rana assured the protesting workers that he would personally take up the matter with the government to implement the transfer policy.

Meanwhile, employees of the Kashmiri Pandit Company, who are protesting in Jammu for their relocation to Jammu, said they were “hurt by the LG’s statement”. Kashmiri Pandit workers continued their protest at the Welfare and Rehabilitation Commissioner’s office in Jammu and said they would not move.

“We would rather starve to death in Kashmir than die at the hands of terrorists,” said Ranjan Jyotshi of Kashmir Pandit.
