The government has decided to start an internship program for 20,000 engineers with a monthly stipend of forty thousand rupees.
Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal said this while addressing the 56th Annual General Meeting of the Institution of Engineers Pakistan in Lahore on Saturday.
Ahsan Iqbal said that we need to promote engineering sector in Pakistan. He said that we have a large number of unemployed engineers who need facilities for self-employment.
The Planning Minister said that a huge budget of six and a half billion rupees has been approved for five universities.
He said that it has also been decided to set up an institute in the name of Dr. Abdul Qadir Khan.
The Federal Minister said that engineering sector plays a very important role in the progress of any country and it should be provided all possible resources.
He said that we are a nuclear state because of the extraordinary efforts and capabilities of our engineers.
