Engineer of Panchayat Samiti under Odisha vigilance lens; 11 plots, flats detected in Berhampur | Jobs Vox

Gajapati: Vigilance officials on Saturday raided the properties of Rayagada Panchayat Samiti’s assistant engineer Dilip Kumar Sahoo at Gajapati and Berhampur in Odisha on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

According to sources, simultaneous house searches are being conducted at four locations in Berhampur, Digapandi and R. Udayagiri.

1. Residential flat in Spectrum Malti Residency at Gopabandhu Nagar in Berhampur.

2. Two storey house at Jyoti Nagar in Berhampur.

3. Water Irrigation Project Office at Digapandi in Ganjam

4. Residential Government Quarters at Cheligada under R Udayagiri at Gajapati.

1) A 3BHK flat in Spectrum Malti Residency, Gopabandhu Nagar, Berhampur.

2) A renovated two-storey ancestral house.

3) 11 plots in prime areas of Berhampur and its surrounding.

Measurement and valuation/evaluation of buildings and plots is being done by Vigilance Technical Wing.

4) Cash above Rs 2.72 lakh.

5) Gold worth 345 grams.

6) Suspected benami possession of one four wheeler and two two wheelers.

Several complaints of corruption have already been lodged against Shahu with the block administration, district administration and the state government.

Significantly, after Cyclone Titli in 2018, there have been allegations of huge corruption in many government schemes, including the relief fund. There were also protests from various political parties, following which the vigilance arrested an engineer of the block and Shahu was placed under surveillance.
