Lt. Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena on Saturday approved the deputation of 22 mid-level officials of Delhi’s civic bodies from other agencies in the city.
“Officials have been deputed from other government departments like New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC), Comptroller and Auditor General, CGST and Income Tax Department. These officers will assist the understaffed Corporation (MCD) of Delhi Municipal Corporation, Revenue, Assessment and Collection,” the official said.
An official in the LG’s office said the appointees include three additional deputy commissioners and a joint collector. The rest are administrative staff.
The appointment was made after an open advertising process and selected by a selection committee.
Last week, Saxena directed the chief secretary of Delhi to appoint 16 women officers as sub-registrars. This, he believes, will make public relations more sensitive, corruption-free and empathetic.
