After an impressive tournament for the midfielder, the Seagulls are ready for a flurry of interest in their star man.

According to Spanish publication AS, Arsenal are set to test Brighton’s will.

The Gunners are keen to add more depth to their midfield, with Albert Sambi Lokonga and Mohamed Elneny their only substitutes in first-choice pairing Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka.

Sky Sports add that Tottenham have shown an interest in the 23-year-old before the start of the tournament.

Spurs have recently done business with Brighton, signing Yves Bissuma for £25m last summer.

They are set to be active in the January market as they aim to prove to Antonio Conte that they are ready to meet his spending demands.

Spurs are in talks to extend the Italian’s contract until the end of this season, but Conte wants to assure him he will have plenty of money.

According to the Telegraph, in January, Spurs are going to buy two players – a defender and a creative midfielder.

McAllister would suit the latter and could link up with former team-mate Bissuma and international friend Christian Romero in north London.

The World Cup winner joined Brighton in January 2019.

He initially played on loan in Argentina with Argentino Juniors and Boca Juniors before becoming a regular for the Seagulls.

Mc Allister has made a total of 86 appearances for South Coast and has added goals to his tally this season.

Tottenham and Arsenal could face stiff competition to sign McAllister from Atletico Madrid.

The AS report adds that boss Diego Simeone is keen to link up with his compatriot, a move that would reunite McAllister with international team-mates Rodrigo de Paul, Angel Correa and Nauel Molina.
