Former Patriots star Julian Edelman didn’t hold back when talking about Mack Jones on a recent episode of “Inside The NFL.”
After Brandon Marshall said Jones doesn’t practice kicking, Edelman made a compelling comment about the second-year quarterback’s antics.
Edelman is clearly not a fan of Jones’ antics — both on and off the field.
“You know what, he also doesn’t practice gimmicks after games and he doesn’t take the coaches and these little goofy faces and stuff. Like he doesn’t practice and do that,” Edelman said, via CBS News . “Why can’t you handle it? It’s bad.”
Edelman isn’t the only person who feels this way about Jones’ behavior.
Patriots insider Tom Curren believes Jones’ antics could cause friction within the team building.
Robert Kraft can’t watch the gestures and the historic plays on the field, and see what happened on 1st and goal the other day, and not go to Mac at some point and say, “So what’s going on here? ‘In this conversation, whether he says it or not, Bill Belichick will understand that Mack is either showing him, his decision or everything about Bill,” Curran said, via Audacy. “That’s what Mack created with his story and the idea that, ‘We need to get more control of this crime.’ He makes Bill Belichick an enemy.”
Jones has 2,310 passing yards, seven touchdowns and eight interceptions this season.
Asked if he plans to stick with Jones at quarterback against the Bengals this Saturday, Bill Belichick said, “The plan is to try to beat Cincinnati.”
