Many investors look at mutual fund managers before investing their money in a scheme. Mutual fund analysts believe that investors should not immediately exit the scheme just because the fund manager exits. They should closely monitor the implementation of the plan. If there is a change in the investment strategy or if there is a slippage in the performance of the fund for a year or two, only one should decide to release the fund.

Prashant Jn
Prashant Jain joined HDFC Mutual Fund in June, 2003 and was the longest serving fund manager in the Indian mutual fund industry before his retirement in 2022. He has managed very popular schemes like HDFC Top 100, HDFC Flexi Cap Fund and HDFC Balanced Advantage Fund. Prior to joining HDFC Mutual Fund, Jain was Chief Investment Officer, Head of Fund Management and Fund Manager at Zurich Asset Management Company Limited.
Manish Gunwani
He joined Nippon India Mutual Fund in September 2017 and co-managed popular schemes like Nippon India Balanced Advantage Fund, Nippon India Growth Fund, Nippon India Flexi Cap Fund and Nippon India Multi Asset Fund. It also managed the Nippon India Passive Flexicap FoF. Gunwani left the fund house in October 2022. Prior to joining Nippon India Mutual Fund, Gunwani worked with ICCICI Prudential Mutual Fund and Brics Securities and Vicisoft Technologies.
Vinay Paharia
Paharia joined Union Mutual Fund as CIO in March 2018 and quit in October 2022. He has co-managed about 12 schemes and some schemes are Union Value Discovery Fund, Union Midcap Fund, Union Large and Midcap Fund, Union Small Cap Fund, Union Large Cap Fund, Union Long Equity Fund, Union Focused Fund, Union Hybrid Equity Fund, Union Balanced Advantage Fund, Union Equity Savings Fund, and Union Flexi Cap Fund Most of the schemes managed by him have given impressive returns during his tenure. Prior to joining Union Mutual Fund, he worked as a senior fund manager with Invesco India Mutual Fund.
Karthikraj Lakshmanan
Baroda joined BNP Paribas Mutual Fund in September 2009 as a Senior Fund Manager. He has managed schemes like Baroda BNP Paribas Aggressive Hybrid Fund, Baroda BNP Paribas Arbitrage Fund, Baroda BNP Paribas Banking and Financial Services Fund, Baroda BNP Paribas ELSS Fund. Baroda BNP Paribas Mid Cap Fund, Baroda BNP Paribas India Consumption Fund, Baroda BNP Paribas Conservative Hybrid Fund, and Baroda BNP Paribas Large Cap Fund will leave the fund house in June, 2022. In August, 2022, Karthikraj Lakshmanan joined UTI Mutual Fund as Senior VP & Fund Manager- Equities.
Vineet Maloo
After a 15-year stint with Aditya Beer’s Sun Life Mutual Fund, Vineet Malo quit the fund house in April 2022. He joined Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund in November 2006 and was managing popular schemes like Aditya Birla Sun Life Balanced. Managed Advantage Fund, and Aditya Birla Sun Life Dividend Yield Fund Aditya Birla Sun Life Infrastructure Fund, and Aditya Birla Sun Life PSU Equity Fund.
Nitish Jain.
He joined Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund in May 2020 and quit in September 2022. He co-managed schemes like Aditya Birla Sun Life Small Cap Fund. Aditya Beera manages the Sun Life Infrastructure Fund. Aditya Birla worked at Axis Capital for 11 years before joining Sun Life Mutual Fund.
Alok Saho
In the year Paribas Banking and PSU Bond Fund, Baroda BNP Paribas Short Duration Fund, Baroda BNP Paribas Credit Risk Fund, Baroda BNP Paribas Liquid Fund, Baroda BNP Paribas Ultra Short Duration Fund, Baroda BNP Paribas Low Duration Fund, and Baroda BNP Paribas Money Market Fund. Before joining Baroda BNP Paribas, he worked with HSBC Mutual Fund and UTI Mutual Fund.
