HSBC acquires AMC L&T Mutual Fund: HSBC Asset Management (India) has completed the management of L&T Investments in November 2022 at a consideration of USD 425 million. L&T Investment Management is a wholly owned subsidiary of L&T Finance Holdings and the investment manager of L&T Mutual Funds.

Mutual fund schemes operated by L&T Mutual Fund have been transferred to HSBC Mutual Fund or merged with HSBC schemes. The sponsorship, trusteeship, administration and management of L&T Mutual Fund Schemes have been transferred to HSBC Securities and Capital Markets (India) Private Limited, HSBC Mutual Fund Board of Trustees and HSBC Asset Management (India) Private Limited respectively.

As this was a change in the basic features of these schemes, the concerned scheme stakeholders were informed about the change in writing and an option to withdraw from the scheme within a period of 30 days. They are given an output load.

Bandi-led consortium IDFC acquires AMC; On December 1, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) approved a Bandihan-led consortium’s plan to buy IDFC’s asset management company. Earlier this year, Bandin Financial Holdings GIC and ChrysCapital signed an agreement to buy IDFC AMC and IDFC AMC Trust Company from parent IDFC, for Rs 4,500 crore.

The acquisition has received all the approvals from RBI, SEBI and CCI, but changes on the ground are still in progress. After the acquisition, IDFC AMC is proposed to be renamed as Bandhan AMC and IDFC Mutual Fund as Bandhan Mutual Fund.
