Kent, Ohio – Kent State wrestling will make its home debut for the 2022-23 season this weekend as they take on the Northern Illinois Huskies on Sunday, December 18th at 1pm at the Kent State Philhouse. It also marks the first nine MAC duals for the Flashes this season.
Fans attending the event will receive an ugly sweater t-shirt and will also be entered into Sunday’s men’s basketball game against Concord at 5 p.m., which will feature an ugly sweater contest.
Historically, Kent State has played well against Northern Illinois, with a 24-9-2 all-time record against the Huskies. The Flashes are looking for their 25th win against the Huskies after losing their last three meetings.
Several bouts this week will likely feature two of the top MAC wrestlers at their weight. Jake Ferrey (2nd), will face Blake West (3rd) and Enrique Munguia (2nd) will likely face Izak Oleinik (1st). All starters for each team are listed below.
