Vince Wilfork is not a fan of Mack Jones getting emotional during games. During a recent appearance on NBC Sports Boston, the New England Patriots Hall of Famer criticized the second-year quarterback for his on-field behavior.
“I’m tired of it,” Wilfork said. “You’re the leader of this team, you’re the quarterback. You can’t be frustrated every week, every game. I don’t care if you get a play call late or whatever. At the end of the day, you’ve got to show some composure because you’re running the ship ; You are the master of the ship when you are there.
“Then your teammates watch you every week and every other game is this, that and the other. Control what you can control. That’s all you can do.”
Jones spoke on the subject on Wednesday and saw no problem with his emotional approach.
“That’s a big part of the game, playing with passion and emotion,” he said. “I think the best players on every team do that. You can’t let it affect your next game, that’s the biggest thing. It’s not. It’s all about fixing things in the game, right? So sometimes when they happen again , we just want to fix them and move on to the next game.
