Venable LLP’s Patent Prosecution & Counseling Group seeks a Patent Agent with a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering background to join the group in the Washington, DC, New York, NY, Chicago, IL, Los Angeles, CA, or San Francisco, CA office Is. This is a full time, permanent position.

Qualification required and preferred:

• The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s and/or graduate degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering or computer science. Strong preference for previous experience as a patent examiner and PTO registration. Industry experience is a plus.
• Qualified candidate has one to three years of patent prosecution experience in a USPTO or law firm setting.
• Candidates must have excellent academic credentials, strong writing skills and sharp analytical abilities.

The salary range for patent agent positions is $112,000 to $225,000, depending on years of patent prosecution experience.
