Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, LG Sinha review national highway projects in J&K – The Dispatch | Jobs Vox

Jammu: Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and Lt Governor Manoj Sinha reviewed the National Highway projects in J&K.

After a detailed discussion, the meeting finalized the design of the upcoming Katra Inter Modal Station. It will enhance the travel experience of visitors to Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple and improve infrastructure and public mobility.

The meeting discussed the ongoing projects of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL) in J&K UT and steps taken to resolve various issues related to the projects.

“Earlier today, Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways Shri @nitin_gadkari met with ji about the ongoing NHAI & NHIDCL projects in J&K UT. The design of Inter Modal Station, Katra has been finalized after detailed discussions,” LG office, J&K tweeted.

Measures to keep Sonamarg open to the public during winters were discussed to keep in view the influx of tourists to major tourist destinations like Sonamarg during winters and also to continuously connect with local people.

Union Minister of State, General (Retd.) V.K. Singh; Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh, Central and UT officials were also present in the meeting.

“Various issues related to NHAI & NHIDCL projects were discussed and resolved. The meeting also discussed measures to keep Sonamarg open to the public during winter. NHAI & NHIDCL will install surveillance cameras on their highways. Works related to Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra of NHIDCL also reviewed,” another tweet said.
