Chairman of Degema Local Government, Hon. Michael John Williams has been awarded the “Life Patron of Rivers Equity Group” by a non-governmental organization (NGO) in the state.
Announcing his candidacy during a one-day medical aid in Bakana, tagged “Public Lecture on Health and Electoral Law”, the NGO noted that his Life Patronage was based on the massive support and investment he has shown to the group. in the health sector.
Rivers Equity Group Coordinator, Chief Clapton Ogolo, while thanking the council chairman for his support for the medical aid, disclosed that it was initiated by the Rivers State Governorship candidate Amaopusenibo Siminialai Fubara of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). born from the desire to have a healthy society to help the helpless citizens with various health challenges.

“We are here to reach out to the unreached, to help those who cannot afford to go to hospitals and get their eyes checked.
“Many of you would have found it difficult to go to the eye doctor alone, but thank God that the chief encouraged us to come to your doorstep.
“Also, one of our patrons, Sir Siminialai Fubara, mandated us to come to Degema to meet his people and convey his message of hope, adding that his administration has very good plans for them when they come on board. Ogolo said.
Chief Ogolo said the people of Degema must have good vision to vote correctly in the 2023 general elections, adding that Degema is the father of PDP in Rivers State and started working with the late Chief Marshal from Harry town. Harry has remained a party stronghold since 1999.
Council Chairman Sir Siminialai commended Fubara for being supported by the people of Degema and said that Bakana and Degema LGs are firmly behind him.
He said the PDP governorship candidate is coming to consolidate the legacy of Governor Nyesom Wike, noting that the people of Degema have decided to give Sim Fubara 100 percent support to realize their ambitions.
He enjoined the beneficiaries to be orderly, follow the prescriptions and instructions given by the medical team and make good use of the opportunity.
Medical care includes free eye check-up, free glasses, medicine, general health check-up and counselling.
