NEW DELHI-(BUSINESS WIRE)–Tech Mahindra, a leading provider of services and solutions for digital transformation, consulting and business reengineering, and IKM Quantum Computers, a European leader in quantum computing, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for quantum computing research. The organizations will explore synergies in the mutually beneficial areas of quantum computing, cryptography and communication technologies.

As part of the partnership, the organizations will jointly develop new quantum computing offerings for various industries, including healthcare, cybersecurity and banking, among others. They will further jointly develop and market quantum technology use cases in India and Finland.

Nikhil Malhotra, Global Head, Makers Lab, Tech Mahindra said, The fabric of computing is changing and quantum computing is a precursor to that change. It promises to address challenges that cannot be solved using current computing techniques and empowers us to reimagine the user experience and move towards a sustainable future at a time when energy demands have become unsustainable. At Tech Mahindra, riding this wave of change, we have partnered with IKM Computers to set new standards in research and development of commercially viable use cases across industries. We are confident that this collaboration will help Tech Mahindra and IKM Computers expand their global presence in quantum computing by leveraging synergies.”

Tech Mahindra is working to accelerate the adoption and commercialization of quantum technology globally. In line with this, the organization is also establishing its Quantum Center of Excellence – KNkt in Helsinki, Finland. With a partnership with IKM Computers,

both organizations will further strengthen their research and design capabilities and quantum computing offerings. The partnership will combine Tech Mahindra’s industry expertise in quantum computing, including hybrid algorithms, quantum machine learning and quantum simulation, together with IKM’s leading expertise in superconducting quantum hardware, quantum algorithm development capabilities and its unique application-specific approach, Co-Design .

Dr. Juha Vartiainen, Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of IKM Quantum Computers, said, “This announcement underscores our commitment to India and our commitment to accelerating the global ecosystem through collaboration.” We are pleased to partner with Tech Mahindra to explore business synergies and develop industry use cases across a range of sectors thanks to their powerful software and emerging technology capabilities.
