Sukesh reiterates giving Rs 60 crore to Jain before LG-appointed commission: Report | Jobs Vox

Imprisoned thief Sukesh Chandrashekhar in his statement before a committee comprising LG VK Saxena reiterated that he paid AAP minister Satyendar Jain to jail and get Rajya Sabha rights, official sources said on Friday.

Neither the Delhi government nor the Aam Aadmi Party have responded to the issue.

Earlier, party leaders dismissed allegations that Chandrashekhar was talking like a BJP spokesperson and that he would join the party after his release from jail.

A three-member committee headed by Chief Secretary (Home) to the Delhi government was formed to probe Chandrashekhar’s complaint against AAP leaders including Jain, who is in Tihar jail for money laundering registered by the Executive.

The committee members met Chandrashekhar at Mandoli jail and recorded his statement on November 14-15, sources said.

According to a report submitted by the committee, Chandrashekhar reiterated that he had given Rs 60 crore to Satyendar Jain, Rs 50 crore and Rs 10 crore as “protection money” for securing Rajya Sabha seats from AAP.

He also claimed to have paid Rs 12.50 crore to the then Director General (Prisons) Sandeep Goel.

“The committee has all the Whatsapp chats between him and Jain confirming the amount, delivery time and location and the investigating agencies will produce the evidence if required,” the source said.

The thief also claimed to have spoken to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over Jain’s phone and confirmed the partial delivery of the money he had paid.

Sources said he had attended a dinner hosted by Kejriwal along with Jain and Kailash Gahlot at a hotel in RK Puram in 2017.

In the report, Chandrashekhar told the committee that he was introduced to Jain in 2015 by a property developer based in Chennai and Bengaluru.
