Srikanth Tyagi got bail from the High Court

The Allahabad High Court on Thursday granted bail to Srikanth Tyagi, who was arrested for assaulting a woman at Grand Omax Society in Noida last month.

Tyagi was arrested by Noida police in Meerut on August 9. He was booked under Indian Penal Code sections 354 (abusive modesty of women and assault), 447 (criminal offence), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation).

The police later registered an FIR against him under the Gangster Act, while a group of his supporters barged into the housing society to arrest the woman complainant.

Tyagi was also accused of using UP government stickers on his vehicle, allegedly in an attempt to “intimidate”, and a case of impersonation was also registered against him.

The local court granted bail to Tyagi in three cases, but it was rejected in the Gangster Act case.

Then Tyagi went to the High Court.
