Saints LG Andrus Peat injured, Browns questionable to return | Jobs Vox

[ad_1]

Things went from bad to worse for the New Orleans Saints offense early in Saturday’s game against the Cleveland Browns. They were already without right back Cesar Ruiz, who ended Lisfranc’s season with a foot injury. But then starting left guard Andrus Peat left the game on a trainer’s cart with an ankle injury. The Saints announced that he is doubtful to return.

This is difficult. Peat has struggled with injuries throughout his career, and the depth of the Saints’ offensive line going into this game will be even more difficult to deal with in his absence. His usual backup, Calvin Throckmorton, started in Ruiz’s position at right back. That put backup center Josh Andrews, fresh off the practice squad, into the game. Another backup linebacker, Lewis Kidd, was inactive for Saturday’s game. This really limited their options.

Hope Pete isn’t seriously hurt. We will wait to hear from the team if he can return.
