Research and analysis platform NGEN Markets to enter the UK market | Jobs Vox

An exciting new analytics product is sweeping through the IFA and wealth communities, registering users at a surprising pace.

“We are focused on capturing the UK IFA market, as we have done with large Indian institutions in the wealth management space in India,” said Deb, MD and CEO of NGEN Research.

NGEN Markets is a full-powered research and analysis platform that provides Indian financial professionals with in-depth and institutional-style analysis of mutual funds, stocks and multi-asset portfolios – all seamlessly accessible in a browser. In the year It is the flagship product of NGEN Research, an Indian company created in 2018 by Debabrata Majumdar and Arunab Mukherjee.

Deb, CEO, has spent over 25 years in finance in India, holding senior roles at IndusInd Bank, Edelweiss AMC, Phillip Capital and Motilal Oswal.

Arunabh, CTO, is a former fund manager from Morgan Stanley in London, managing over $3 billion of algo-managed funds.

“We have established ourselves as a major player in research and analytics in India and now we are ready to do the same in the UK market,” said Deb.

In India, NGEN already has an enviable client list including DBS, SBI MF, Yes Bank, DSP MF and Motilal Oswal. While these big names are serviced using NGEN Research’s enterprise model, NGEN Markets is unique, as it brings institutional research expertise – available only to large companies – directly into the hands of smaller IFAs.

They are now looking at high paying IFAs in the UK market where there is a dearth of good research systems at affordable prices.

Arunabh explains, “We are primarily focused on research – enabling advisors to find the right investments for their clients with thousands of mutual funds. Our unique research style applies to anything of value – fund, stock, index or portfolio – with real-time rolling analysis, scenario analysis, correlation analysis, value at risk, losses and more.

Their portfolio analysis is what really sets them apart. With complete backtesting capabilities, including portfolio updates, overlays, and portfolio comparisons, it’s the perfect tool for evaluating existing clients and new ones.

“We can adapt our portfolio analytics engine to UK data to provide an institutional style research experience at a lower cost,” says Arunabh.

NGEN Markets, although launched a few years ago, already has over a thousand paying customers and is growing rapidly. With the number of IFAs at over 1.5 lakh and growing in India, they seem to have a long way to go before they have to worry about getting clients.

They raised funds in Pre-Series A and Series A last year and successfully completed Series B funding this year.

“We are now commercially available in the UK and plan to launch production in April next year. We have had fruitful discussions with a number of UK IFAs and strategic partners, and I am very excited about the future,” says Deb.

We will continue to watch NGEN as it expands to the UK.
