salary range: $115,599 – $176,300

This position is subject to the NH-04 pay control point at the GS-14 Step 10 pay level ($150,278).

Basic Qualification Requirement:

In addition to meeting the specific experience qualifications listed below, your application package should reflect applicable experience to meet the individual occupational requirements for 0801, Series, listed below:

a degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor’s degree at a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) Engineering Science or Physics including Differential and Integral Calculus and courses (more advanced than first year Physics and Chemistry) in five of the following seven areas: (a) Statics, Dynamics; (b) strength of material (stress-strain relationship); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electric field and circuit; (f) the nature and properties of the material (for properties relating to particle and aggregate structure); and (g) any other comparable field of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. -Or-

B. Combination of education and experience – College-level education, training, and/or technical experience that provides (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a sound understanding, both theoretical and practical, of engineering science and techniques and engineering His application to one of the branches of The adequacy of such background should be demonstrated by any one of the following:

1. Professional Registration or License – Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT)1, or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any state, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. In the absence of other means of qualifying under this standard, applicants who have obtained such registration through means other than written examination (e.g., State Grandfather or Distinguished Provisions) are eligible only for those positions that qualify for their registration. Relating to or closely related to a particular area of. For example, an applicant who obtains registration as a construction engineer through the State Board’s prestigious provision will generally only be considered eligible for construction engineering positions.

2. Written Test – Proof of successfully passing the Engineering (FE) 2 examination or any other written examination required for professional registration by an engineering licensing board in various states, the District of Columbia, Guam and Puerto Rico.

3. Specified Academic Courses – Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical and engineering sciences and which includes the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A. The curriculum must be acceptable in its entirety to meet the requirements of the engineering program described. in paragraph a

Related Courses – Successful completion of a course leading to a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate scientific field, eg, engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, accepted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree in engineering Can be done, provided the applicant has at least 1 year of professional engineering experience under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Typically there must be either an established scheme of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, eg, in interdisciplinary positions. (The above examples of related courses are not all-inclusive.)

Specific Experience: One year of specialized experience that includes serving as a technical expert within the Program Executive Officer (PEO) organization, providing expert technical and managerial advice to PEO and Program Manager (PM) leadership in these areas; Conceiving new concepts and approaches to solve highly complex engineering problems that transcend organizational boundaries and interfacing extensively with multiple PMs to execute PEO level actions and facilitate PM level work Huh.

This definition of distinguished experience is specific to work performed in the next lower grade/level position in the Federal Service (GS-13).

major duties:

1. Masteres the theories, practices, and principles of engineering fundamentals associated with combining professional engineering work such as: physical and engineering science and mathematics; computer hardware/software integration, electrical, chemical and/or electronic phenomena; Analysis of engineering structures, materials and compatibility and/or engineering equipment, models and simulations.

2. Decisions involving policy that affect the PEO/PM’s ability to accomplish the assigned mission. The plans made by the incumbent affect the goals, objectives and direction of the organizations and require an analytical approach to predict future trends and outcomes.

3. Represents the PEO/PM at conferences and meetings with the most senior representatives from DOD, DA, MACOMs, other services, foreign governments, and industry.

4. Develops, plans, implements, reviews and directs assigned program that involves work in areas of considerable engineering difficulty and complexity.

6. Responsible for guiding work to subordinates or other personnel through periodic reviews, briefings, reports or comments.

7. Coordinates and integrates the work of other units, each of which may involve different areas of responsibility and require different skills, knowledge and abilities to perform the work.

8. Acquires and maintains knowledge of advanced development programs with the activities of other agencies that can be effectively and economically applied to the needs of the PEO/PM programs.

conditions of employment:

1) Must meet eligibility for federal employment

2) Must provide proof of US citizenship

3) Will be required to serve a probation period of 2 years

4) Direct deposit of salary is required

5) This position requires temporary duty (TDY) or business travel of 25% of the time.

6) Must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Secret Security Clearance for the duration of employment.

7) A financial disclosure statement for this position is required on OGE Form 450 and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Instruction 5500-7-R.

8) This is an important acquisition position.

9) 3 years tenure agreement is required for this post. Must sign DD Form 2888 (Critical Acquisition Position Service Agreement) and a written tenure agreement as a condition of employment.

10) It is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Task Force position. The selectee must meet the position requirements for the Practitioner Level II Engineering Certification within 24 months upon entry to duty. The timeline for certification completion may change from 24 months to 60 months upon approval of DoDI 5000.66, Change 3.

11) Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration

12) Salary includes applicable locality pay or local market supplement.

13) Additional Requirements for CAPS: In addition to the certification standards and CL requirements applicable to all AWF positions, CAPs have additional requirements that must be met prior to assignment. Info pulled directly from DODI 5000.66

• Highest level of certification in the applicable functional area, except for Program Management, which requires Practitioner or higher level certification.
