Nordic digital initiatives deal with economy, environment | Jobs Vox

STOCKHOLM–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Nordic businesses have responded to rapid change over the past few years by launching digital transformations and taking the lead in environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives, according to a new research report released today by Information Services Group (ISG) ( Nasdaq : III), the world’s leading technology research and consulting company.

The ISG Provider Lens™ Digital Business Enablement and ESG Services 2022 report for the Nordics reveals that digital technologies and third-party services have empowered organizations in the region as they adapt to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent economic disruptions, including challenges created by war in Ukraine.

“Many Nordic businesses have successfully changed the way they operate to generate growth in a difficult environment,” said Anna Medkouri, Partner, ISG EMEA. “Strategy and Consulting Services played a big role in making this possible.”

The region has pioneered digital services and projects related to ESG goals, and this activity is accelerating in both environmental and other use cases, ISG says. Many companies are implementing systems to accurately track and report on scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. ESG efforts in the Nordic countries also extend to other aspects of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the report said. One project used data analytics to analyze keywords used in job application lists in an effort to attract more female applicants.

Supply chains in the Nordic countries are constrained by conditions including material shortages, rising costs, war-related disruptions and poor demand visibility, ISG says. The development of data-driven supply chains, which use analytics and artificial intelligence to improve supply estimation and demand management, is a growing trend in the region, and providers are building specific offerings for this need. Supply chain modernization projects are also increasingly concerned with decarbonisation and responsible material sourcing.

“Nordic consumers want to see companies making a positive difference in their supply chains,” said Jan Erik Aase, partner and global leader, ISG Provider Lens Research. “Service providers enable clients to track and report on the impact of their efforts.”

As in other regions, businesses in the Nordic countries are adopting digital technologies to improve customer experience (CX) in the post-pandemic economy, the report said. Creating a differentiated experience for specific consumer segments, such as millennials and Generation Z, is a major trend in the Nordic countries. Offering green products for environmentally conscious consumers is another emerging demand.

The report also explores other business services trends affecting companies in the Nordics, including skills shortages and early efforts by providers to build CKS use cases for augmented and virtual reality and the metaverse.

The ISG Provider Lens™ Digital Business Enablement and ESG Services 2022 report for the Nordics assesses the capabilities of 36 providers in four quadrants: Business Advisory Services, Customer Experience Services, Supply Chain Transformation Services, and Sustainability and ESG Services.

The report lists Accenture, HCLTech, IBM and Wipro as leaders in all four quadrants. He names Atos, Capgemini, TCS and Tietoevri as leaders in three quadrants each. BCG, Cognizant, Deloitte Digital, EI, Infosis, LTI, McKinsey, PvC and Tech Mahindra were named leaders in one quadrant each.

In addition, GEP and Mindtree were named as Rising Stars — companies with “promising portfolios” and “high future potential” as defined by ISG — in each quadrant.
