N Macedonia chooses IRD Engineering to supervise work on Corridor VIII, Xd | Jobs Vox

SKOPJE (N. Macedonia), December 19 (VIEW NEWS) – North Macedonia’s road company said it chose Italian consultancy IRD Engineering to oversee construction works on sections of the Pan-European Corridor VIII and Xd in the western Balkan country, Local media reported.

The Public Enterprise for State Roads (PESR) said it has received proposals from three companies in its tender for the provision of supervision services and legal transaction advice, news outlet 24info reported last week.

According to media reports, bidders include France’s Ingroep Conseil et Ingenierie with an offer of 1.1 billion dinars ($19.1 million/18 million euros), IRD Engineering with 1.4 billion dinars and US Hill International with the highest bid of 1.5 billion dinars. Are included.

State-owned PESR said the selection of the best bidder was based on the best offered quality and offered price.

PESR opened the tender on 15 September. The deadline for submitting proposals had ended on October 17.

Corridor VIII is an east-west route linking Albania’s Adriatic port of DurrĂ«s to Bulgaria’s Black Sea port of Varna via North Macedonia.

Corridor X is a pan-European corridor that runs from Salzburg, Austria to Thessaloniki, Greece. The corridor passes through Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, North Macedonia and Greece. It has four branches – A, B, C and D.

PESR is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the national and regional road network in North Macedonia.
