Vizianagaram: MVGR College of Engineering organized its 25th anniversary here on Friday. P Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Chairman, MANSAS, recalled the history of the college and explained the motive behind setting up the institute in 1997. He said that at that time students here had no opportunity to study engineering and the rich could go to other states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu to pursue technical education, but after the establishment of engineering colleges here, local students got an opportunity to become engineers at less cost.
The aim of establishing the college was to encourage poor students into technical education and change the lives of common people, he said. Vice Chancellor of Centurion University prof. In his speech, GSN Raju advised the students to be honest and hardworking during their four-year education and gain knowledge from the professors. Proper guidance and coaching would lead them to prosperity and career advancement.
Dr KVL Raju, principal of the college said he listed the milestones they have reached in the past 25 years of journey. Ravichandra K, Assistant Vice President, Head of Delivery, Government of India, Tech Mahindra, told the students that to get a job in any company one should know about the company, job profiles, current and past projects of the company, awards, employees and their culture. One should always respect the institution, the organization with which they want to work, he added.
Karthik Abhirama Krishna, Talent Acquisition Group, TCS, said that MVGR is one of the best colleges as the management gives immense support to the students and faculty. He emphasized that students should make wise and correct decisions in choosing their career and once selected to work with commitment for at least five to six years in the same company to learn and gain experience.
