Mahindra with Chakan Facility becomes India’s first car manufacturing unit with 5G technology | Jobs Vox

Airtel on Thursday said it has implemented a ‘5G for Enterprise’ solution at Mahindra’s manufacturing facility in Chakan, making it India’s first 5G car manufacturing unit.

The deployment reportedly allows managers to undertake multiple software flashing sessions in parallel due to the availability of high speeds and ultra-low latency. This obviously resulted in a shorter time for surgery.

This also meant that computerized vision based inspection was now fully automated resulting in improved paint quality.

“The ‘5G for Business’ solution has significantly improved Chakan’s network connectivity, resulting in improved software flash speeds, a critical operation for all transport shipments,” Airtel said in a statement.

Airtel is testing multi-partner and multi-location spectrum use cases and delivery as part of its #5GforBusiness offering.

In a statement, Manish Vyas, President, Communications, Media and Entertainment Business, and CEO, Network Services, Tech Mahindra said, “Our collaboration with Airtel is aimed at enhancing the customer experience through digitally enabled platforms and new age solutions. We are confident that this partnership will help unlock opportunities across industries to improve productivity, drive the intelligent digitization of the network-driven enterprise, and drive innovation.
