Since 2015, the indie rocker has been performing Christmas classics

Mack DeMarco saves His Christmas tradition comes alive with coverage of another Yuletide classic, this time “It’s Starting to Look Like Christmas.”

This year’s Christmas present video sees DeMarco in an inflatable Santa Claus costume riding a motorcycle through Los Angeles with his faithful gingerbread man. As the duo roll, Christmas takes shape in the city – in keeping with the song’s theme – with DeMarco witnessing the tree lighting and a rare patch of snow.

The cover itself is faithful to the original version of the seasonal standard, previously popularized by Bing Crosby, Perry Como and Michael Buble.

“I care about you, I miss you, I think about you all the time,” DeMarco wrote to fans. “Merry Christmas.”

Although previously prolific, DeMarco hasn’t released a full-length studio LP since 2019 Here comes the cowboyHe makes sure to treat his fans to new (yet old) music every Christmas: DeMarco started his cover tradition in 2015 with “White Christmas.”

Two years later, he reworked Paul McCartney’s “A Merry Christmas,” followed by “A Christmas Carol” and “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” on the following two Decembers. 2020 brought “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” while DeMarco celebrated 2021 with “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”
