LG wants to meet Union Minister and devolve more powers to J&K | Jobs Vox

New Delhi- Jammu and Kashmir Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday met the Union Minister for Power, New and Renewable Energy and sought to increase power distribution in the Union Territory.

Power Secretary Alok Kumar and other senior officials of the Ministry of Power, New and Renewable Energy were also present in the meeting here, an official spokesperson said on Thursday.

He said various measures required to ensure uninterrupted power supply and improve power infrastructure in the Union Territory of J&K were discussed.

He said that LG has appealed for more power allocation to J&K and the Union Power Minister has assured to look into the request and take early action.

The spokesperson said that LG shares the Metropolitan Government’s efforts to build transmission and distribution infrastructure, reduce AT&C losses and improve the quality and reliability of electricity supply to communities.

“The Union Power Minister will extend all possible assistance to ensure adequate resources,” he added.
