LG U+ has released a virtual exhibition for girl group Red Velvet titled “The ReVe Festival 2022: Happiness” on augmented reality (XR) app U+DIVE.
The app currently offers more than 3,000 XR content across eight categories, including education, gaming, web movies, and travel.
In June 2021, as part of the collaboration with SM Entertainment, U+DIVE opened a special virtual exhibition collection for artists under SM Entertainment called “Kwangya@Dive”.
“The ReVe Festival 2022: Happiness” is Kwangya@Dive’s third virtual project after EXO and NCT127, featuring behind-the-scenes footage and images from the girl group’s promotion of their two EPs this year. Feel My Rhythm in November and “The ReVe Festival 2022: Birthday” in November.
Unlike the previous project, “The ReVe Festival 2022: Happiness” is designed as a metaverse exhibition where the audience can create their own avatars and view the exhibition. Users will also be able to chat with other users and play various games.
“Through this metaverse exhibition, we hope to create a fandom culture where fans can not only indirectly experience the universe of their K-pop idols, but also interact,” said an LG U+ spokesperson.
“We will continue to try different projects together with SM Entertainment to fulfill the desires of K-pop fans.”
The exhibition will continue until January 19.
