Description:

This recall involves LG Energy Solution Model RESU 10H lithium-ion batteries installed as part of a residential solar panel system. Retractable batteries allow owners to collect and store energy from solar panels. The battery is wall mounted and measures 29 x 36 x 8 inches. They weigh about 220 pounds. The LG logo is located on the upper left side of the front panel. The serial number of the recalled product begins with R15563P3S and is located behind the RESU home battery access door.

Treatment:

LG Energy Solution Michigan will arrange a remote firmware update for the online battery recall. Diagnostic software updates are designed to monitor recalled batteries and shut down batteries if a fire risk is detected. If the battery goes out, contact LG Energy Solution Michigan for further instructions. Do not attempt to restart the battery. LG Energy Solution Michigan, its distributors and installers are contacting owners directly if their units are not online to schedule an appointment with a technician to manually update the diagnostic software.
