SEOUL — At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), a global technology event in Las Vegas in January, LG Electronics will create “monster” digital virtual shoes with non-trivial token (NFT) technology. Exhibition of care and storage where luxury sneakers and limited editions can be stored at optimal humidity and temperature.

Customers can collect 5500 unique models of NFT shoes and manage and evaluate authentic and NFT shoes together using the app. LG has teamed up with Seoul Induk University’s game and virtual reality design department to create the monster shoe. An NFT is a unit of information stored in a blockchain network of interconnected virtual ledgers. Each NFT is backed by a blockchain, a unique digital asset that cannot be exchanged.

In Las Vegas, LG launched a “physical (physical and digital)” experience zone where consumers can see and try on NFT shoes inside a designer shoe box using augmented reality technology using holograms and art toys. NFT shoes will be available for sale starting January 25th. Clients can store and trade NFT boots they get with cryptocurrency wallets.

Figital is a marketing term that describes the combination of digital experiences with the physical. Phygital experiences add value by augmenting the physical experience with information, while augmenting the digital experience with human connection or physical enhancements.

“We will provide a differentiated experience for consumers through the new generation of premium shoe management solutions, Styler ShoeCase and ShoeCare, and unique NFT shoes,” Baek Seung-tae, head of LG’s consumer electronics division, said in a Dec. 21 statement. In the first half of 2023, it will bring its premium shoe care solution home by applying regenerative plastic to the exterior.

The shoe care solution features clear panels, a 360-degree rotating turntable, and a modular design that allows four boxes to be stacked one at a time. LG has used proven technology for shoe fresheners, moisture absorption and odor removal filters. The intuitive app allows users to monitor and control shoes remotely.
