The LG C2 comes from a manufacturer that has been making industry-leading TVs since the 60s, and has recently made a name for itself as an innovator in OLED TVs, pushing the minimum design and picture quality expected of modern TVs. LG’s C2 OLED TV is a collection of years of cutting-edge specs and minimal design, but it will cost you (even with the discounts we regularly report in our best LG C2 prices article).
So where does it rank among the cheaper C1, G1 and G2 high spec? In this review, we’ll talk about how the LG C2 plays online games, my frequent YouTubers, and movie nights.

LG C2 Review: Image
The picture of LG C2 TV is definitely its most important part and we can report that it is one of the highlights of the TV. I took the 77-inch set out of the box, placed it on my TV table (an easy task thanks to how light the C2 is), and I went straight to watching 4K videos on YouTube. to try it out. Whether it was a highly detailed slow-motion video of colorful paints blending together on a black background, or a floating image of the most beautiful place in the world, this image was like nothing I’d ever seen.
But the average user doesn’t just use their TV for 4K recording, so I also spent a lot of time watching at different resolutions. Color saturation throughout was rich and contrast was excellent. I usually have a 2019 Sony Bravia TV, and it’s unfair to compare that old warhorse to a 2022 model OLED, but it gives me the LG’s color, contrast, sharpness, and detail. C2. It makes everything brighter and colors more saturated thanks to LG’s OLED Evo technology.
This is probably thanks to the C2’s new processor, the Alpha A9 Gen 5. It offers object enhancement and tonal rendering. This process changes the entire tone of the source material based on the contrast ratio of the image…which is essentially a TV decision. Whether you’re watching 4K movies or low-resolution footage, it always looks its best.
LG C2 Review: Price
Although the LG C2 is this year’s model (if you’re reading this in 2022), we’ve already seen a significant drop in retail prices for the C series. Here are the retail prices for all sizes…
- 42-inch: $1,399/£1,399
- 48-inch: $1,499/£1,399
- 55-inch: $1,799/£1,898
- 65-inch: $2,499/£2,699
- 77-inch: $3,499/£3,699
- 83-inch: $5,499/£5,499
Now we’ve reported that the 55-inch model of the LG C2 will go down to $1,299 on Black Friday, which seems to be the new standard price for LG’s model. (opens in new tab)for now (although we don’t know if it’s good or temporary).
And for context, if you’re looking at the C1 as a more affordable option than the C2, we’ve seen the 55-inch model cost $896. Now, we’re not saying they’re the same TV – the C2 is clearly better – but there are still a few upgrades to the already great C1. It depends on what you want and how much you are willing to pay for it.
LG C2 Review: Design and Connectivity
As soon as I opened the box, two things jumped out at me. First there was the sleek, thin design of the C2, then the lightweight (and I’m counting the 77-inch model I reviewed). If my hands were bigger, I could have easily taken the TV out of the box and set it up myself. There is a minimum connection to the TV base, and then you set everything up.
Sitting tall and proud in my living room, when the C2 isn’t on, it’s very thin, thin enough to wall mount without moving away from the wall. Although the 77-inch beast wouldn’t fit in a modest home, it’s small-framed, slim, and elegant.
With connectivity options including four HDMI 2.1 inputs, three USB, eARC, Optical output and LAN, this is a really well-connected TV.
LG C2 Review: Should I Buy?
In recent months, the answer has become simpler. The short answer is if you want one of the best OLED TVs out there, yes, especially since we’ve seen the LG C2 drop significantly in almost every size. If investing in a bright, colorful OLED TV that can connect to a variety of devices and load next-gen games is important to you, the LG C2 is a great choice.
However, for those who want to be as good as the C2 but want more or less, I recommend jumping on the C1. Either way, the LG C series is a beautiful, state-of-the-art OLED option that will appeal to all consumers.
