Chairman, Epe Local The Lagos State Government, Sura Animashaun, said street carnivals throughout the council area would be banned during the night due to ongoing security challenges in the state.
Animashaun told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Friday that all activities related to the street carnival should end by 10:00 p.m.
The chairman called on all councilors, community and religious leaders to help inform followers and other residents about the development.
“The local government has decided not to hold an all-night carnival in the ancient community due to the security situation.
“For this, all youth carnivals must end smoothly by 10:00 p.m. Local governments will not hesitate to take action against any person who violates this Executive Order for failure to comply with this Executive Order.
“Please help publicize this ordinance to the youth and the public who are planning to hold street carnivals where all events must end by 10pm,” he said.
