Mumbai- Jammu and Kashmir has become one of the fastest growing Union Territories in the country, Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha said on Saturday as his administration cleared the hurdles in implementing people-friendly governance and formed the government. new businesses and industries.

“Youth are writing the bright future of J&K. The administration has taken many steps to accelerate economic development and create supportive schemes and policies to fulfill the aspirations of our young population,” Sinha said.

He said this while addressing a conference titled ‘Badalta Jammu Kashmir’ on Saturday. LG shared J&K’s remarkable robust and resilient growth story.

“We have eliminated the difficulties in implementing people-friendly governance and establishing new businesses and factories. It is our duty to provide equal opportunities to all,” LG said.

The meeting was attended by former Governor of Uttar Pradesh Ram Naik; Vinod Tawde, Former Minister, Government of Maharashtra; Members of Parliament; Ministers, legislators, former ministers and senior politicians.

Talking about the UT’s journey of transformation, Sinha said that J&K has become one of the fastest growing UTs.

“The progress made by the Parliament in the last three years has given people new hope and confidence. “Never before has PMEGP, Infrastructure construction and projects been executed at such a fast pace in the last three years,” he said.

“Increased pace of development, improved socio-economic indicators, unprecedented progress in all priority sectors, high tourist inflows and industrial investments are testimony to the peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.

The Govt highlighted the reforms implemented by the government to empower every section of the society, making all citizens especially the youth agents of change and providing equal opportunity to an aspiring society.

He also said that his administration is taking decisive and tough steps against the terrorism ecosystem and corruption.

“Article 370 was the root cause of separatism, terrorism, nepotism, discrimination and corruption and made J&K underdeveloped. Three years after breaking away from the past, we are moving forward on a new path of development,” said Sinha.

“The world is changing. India has emerged as a global economic powerhouse as the world’s largest democracy and its achievements inspire J&K UT to strengthen the country and contribute to building a modern India,” he added.

With the creation of an unprecedented 21,640 new manufacturing and service units and the creation of over 1.70 million jobs, the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program – PMEGP has emerged as the most powerful tool to contribute to society, the LG said.

Sinha also talked about revitalizing and promoting Jammu Kashmir as a preferred location for film shoots and its close ties with the Mumbai film industry.

On the occasion, the guests of honor and keynote speakers shared their views on the transformational changes taking place in Jammu and Kashmir.
