Freedom doesn’t wait for the typical MAC team | Jobs Vox

Lynchburg, Va. – Liberty’s date against the MAC champions, the Toledo Rockets, in the Boca Raton Bowl is fast approaching.
Toledo won its first MAC title since 2017 with a win over Ohio University.
At 8-5, the Rockets have lost two games by one score, and Liberty interim coach Josh Aldridge says this team could easily be a 10-win club.

After considering Toledo’s personnel, the Liberty also realizes that this challenge may not be exactly what the fans expect.

“Not your typical MAC school per se.” Usually when you think of MAC, you think of the likes of the Big Five/Big 10. You know – the big strong, strong will not test you on every blade of grass in the field. These guys are not like that. They have a lot of speed on the outside, especially and in the quarterback, so it’s very similar to a lot of the teams we face,” Aldridge said.

The 8-4 Flames beat the 8-5 Rockets at 7:30 from FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, Fla., about 50 miles north of Miami.
