The Chairman of Epe Local Government, Mrs. Sura Animashaun, has announced that all-night street carnivals across the council area will be banned due to lingering security concerns.
Animashaun told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos on Friday that all activities related to the street carnival should end by 10:00 p.m.
The chairman called on all councilors, community and religious leaders to help inform followers and other residents about the development.
“The local government has decided not to hold an all-night carnival in the ancient community due to the security situation.
“For this, all youth carnivals must end smoothly by 10 p.m. The local government will not hesitate to take action against any violators if this ordinance is not complied with.
“Please help us spread the word to the youth and the public, especially the street carnival organizers, that all events must end by 10pm,” he said.
