Engineering Dean Whitney Gaskins Honors Cincinnati Business Courier Women Who Mean Business | Jobs Vox

Gaskins is the assistant dean for Inclusive Excellence and Community Engagement and a faculty member in the College of Engineering and Applied Science.

Gaskins is a three-time alumna of UC, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, a Master of Science in Quantitative Analysis, and a Ph.D. have gained. in Biomedical Engineering. At UC, Gaskins leads the recruitment, support and retention of marginalized or underrepresented student populations for the College of Engineering and Applied Science.

In 2009, Gaskins created The Gaskins Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to increase STEM education opportunities for K-12 students of all ages and backgrounds.

Gaskin was selected as a member of the Leadership Ohio Fellows Class of 2022, a statewide leadership development program. She was recognized as a 2021 Career Woman of Achievement and Dr. Terry Kershaw was the recipient of the Faculty Excellence Award and the Excellence in Teaching Award for her innovative honors course, Sticky Innovation.

In 2019, he was recognized by the Greater Cincinnati Chamber as a Black History Maker and was included in its 40 Under 40 class. He was named a 2017 K12 Champion by the National Association of Multicultural Engineering Program Advocates. In 2015, Gaskins was awarded the Janice A. Awarded the Lumpkin Educator of the Year Golden Torch Award.
