JAMMU, Dec 20: Former J&K legislator Devender Singh Rana met Lt Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan today.
Devender Singh Rana had a detailed discussion with the Governor on several issues from various sections of the society including daily betting, Asha workers, SC & KP migrants, families of martyrs and welfare of children.
They also discussed the development of industrial and cooperative sectors in J&K and speedy organization of recruitment for vacant posts in government institutions.
The governor assured that all the issues highlighted by Lt. Rana would be given due attention and appropriate action would be taken.
Meanwhile, a 28-member delegation of the Sikh community called on the Lt. Governor.
The delegation comprised of prominent members of the Sikh community led by All Jammu and Kashmir Sikh Coordination Committee Chairman Ajit Singh: DGPC Samba President Kulwinder Singh; Jaspal Singh, President, Udhampur DGPC; Prof Hardyal Singh, DGPC President Rajouri; Didar Singh, President DGPC Reasi; Avtar Singh, Member DGPC Jammu; Jathedaar Gurdeep Singh; Narinder Singh Khalsa, Avtaar Singh Khalsa and others raised various issues and grievances and sought the intervention of the lieutenant governor to resolve them.
Highlighting the issue, Ajit Singh said that the minority Sikh community has always contributed to the development and peace of Jammu and Kashmir. The members of the delegation further expressed their gratitude to the Metropolitan Administration led by the Lt. Governor for taking unprecedented measures for the welfare and empowerment of minority communities in J&K.
During the meeting with the representatives, the Deputy Governor noted that the Government of J&K is committed to protect the rights of all citizens and is working on a plan to ensure equal and fair development of all citizens of the capital.
The Deputy Head of Administration informed the visiting delegation that he would take care to solve all the problems immediately.
