Delhi LG VK Saxena on Wednesday sought details of the West Delhi police commissioner in the acid attack case, including how it was obtained despite the ban on the sale of acid.

A 17-year-old girl was attacked with acid by two motorcycle-borne men near west Delhi’s Uttam Nagar on Wednesday morning. The girl, Safdarjung, was admitted to the hospital, where doctors said she suffered burns to 7-8 percent of her face and damage to her eyes.

“The Lt. Governor spoke to the Commissioner of Police regarding the unfortunate incident of acid attack in Dwarka More today and sought details of the incident like how the acid used was procured despite the ban in the city.” Raj Niwas Delhi said this in a series of tweets.
