Capital Group, Pimco is biased towards buying index CDS | Jobs Vox

Capital Group and Pimco added $3.1 billion and $2.5 billion, respectively, to buy index credit default swaps in the third quarter of 2022, fueling market expansion.

The sector’s reported total rose to $169 billion – up from about $165 billion in Q2 – as the share of purchased protections rose to 37% of the total, the highest in 11 quarters of data since Q1 2020. In general, US mutual funds have been bought. In the third quarter, a decrease of 3 dollars in protection of 7.8 billion dollars
