‘Bench Mc Jones, get Bailey Zapp’: Patriots crowd turns hostile as Belichick’s unit struggles big time against Burroughs Bengals | Jobs Vox

One of the longest debates in a long time has been whether Bill Belichick is a good coach without Tom Brady, and it’s fair to say the odds against this move are in their favor.

After Brady left, New England was good, but not good enough to win the title. To make matters worse, the 2022 season is shaping up to be a really painful one for Belichick and his unit.

The New England Patriots have been good in patches, but overall, their inconsistent performances have made them look really bad against some of the stronger teams.

Saturday night, when the Patriots stepped up against last season’s Super Bowl runners-up, the Cincinnati Bengals, it was expected to be an exciting matchup. However, this is a one-sided affair.

By the end of the third quarter, the Bengals had built a 16-point lead, and to expect Belichick’s boys to pull off a miracle in years would be a little too optimistic.

Patriots fans want Bailey Zapp instead of Mack Jones

From the minute the game started, the focus was on New England QB Mac Jones, who has been pretty inconsistent this season. However, his poor run continued into this scrimmage, prompting Patriots fans to ask the coach to bring in Bailey Zappé.

Fans chanted loudly that they want Zapp instead of Jones, which is not a good sign for either team. By the end of the third quarter, Mack had 121 yards for zero TDs, while his counterpart Joe Barrow had 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions for 324 yards.

Even though Jones was able to get a TD on the opening drive of the final quarter, his unit still has a lot of deficits to overcome. The fact that Belichick’s men did not manage to score a single point at halftime speaks volumes about the team’s confidence.

It’s not very often that teams lead by 22 points at halftime while the opposition struggles to get something going in the contest. Obviously, this contest will pose a lot of questions for Belichick and certainly Mack Jones, who was not a fan favorite during the matchup.

Patriots fans wanted Bailey Zapp to take the field for them, but Coach Beale is sticking with Jones and it looks like that would be a bad choice.
